Addie Model: Adala, Wahdah M. Dagalea, Xylene B. Estrada, Jerome Fajardo, Ina Ih, Joyce Christian Lucaylucay, Eden Faith

The ADDIE model is an instructional design model commonly used by instructional designers. It consists of five cyclical phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. These phases represent a dynamic, flexible guideline for building effective training tools. Analysis involves clarifying instructional problems and goals. Design deals with learning objectives and content development. Development creates content assets blueprinted in design. Implementation trains facilitators and learners. Evaluation provides formative feedback throughout and summative assessments of learning outcomes.

What is the
ADDIE Model?

ADDIE Model
An Instructional design model
commonly used by instructional
designers
It is the very core of instructional
design.
Basis of instructional systems
designs (ISD)

It consists of Five Cyclical Phases:

A - Analysis
D - Design
D - Development
I - Implementation
E Evaluation
These processes represent a
dynamic, flexible guideline for
building effective training and
performance tools.

Analysis

The instructional problem is

clarified
Instructional goals and objectives
are set
the learning and learner`s existing
knowledge and skills are identified

Design
The design phase deals with the
following:
Learning objectives
Assessment instruments
Exercises
Content
Subject matter
Analysis
Lesson planning and media selection

Systematic and Specific

Development
The phase where instructional designers
and developers gets involved.
They create and assemble content assets
that were blueprinted in the design phase.
Story boards are created ,content is written
and graphics are designed.

Programmers work to develop and

integrate technologies if e-learning is
involved

Implementation
The implementation phase
develops a procedure for training
of both the facilitators and
learners.
The facilitator`s training should
cover the following:
curriculum
learning outcomes
method of delivery
testing procedures

Evaluation

The evaluation phase consists of 2

parts:
Formative Evaluation
- Present in each stage of the ADDIE process
Summative Evaluation
-consists of tests designed for domain
specific criterion-related references items.
-it also provides opportunities for feedback
from the users which were identified.

More about the ADDIE

model.
It is an Instructional Systems
Design (ISD) model.
Most of the current instructional
design models are spin-offs or
variations of the ADDIE
instructional design model.
Dick and Carey and Kemp Instructional
Design Models.

Rapid Prototyping
A commonly accepted improvement
of the ADDIE model
An idea of receiving continual or
formative feedback while IM`s are
created.
This model attempts to save time
by catching problems while they are
still easy to fix.
