How to answer Paper 1 (Cold War) questions

Monday 6th June (am) 1 hour 45 mins 60 marks 37.5%

Q 4 marks Describe
Two detailed/developed points for full marks (in one paragraph)
6-8 lines
8 minutes to complete
Dont write about any irrelevant material (focus on the question)

6 marks Agree/Disagree
Two paragraphs
Paragraph One =Content + and .What does the source tell
you? From your own knowledge, why would some disagree with
the view of the source?
Paragraph Two = Provenance .What are the positives/negatives
with the N.O.P?
6-7 lines in each paragraph
12 minutes to complete
Make sure you read the interpretation in the description and
focus your agree/disagree to this
DONT JUST DESCRIBE WHAT YOU SEE IN THE SOURCE!
10 marks Judgement
Two paragraphs;
Paragraph One = Briefly describe the first bullet point and then
concentrate on WHY this event worsened relations /made the
cold war more developed
Paragraph Two = Do the same for the 2nd bullet point/event as
you did for the first bullet point/event
ONLY WRITE A CONCLUSION THAT ARGUES ONE OF THE
EVENTS WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE OTHER IF YOU
HAVE TIME. YOU ONLY GET 1 EXTRA MARK FOR THIS SO
CAN GET AN A* WITHOUT THIS!
