Essential Questions:
How do I determine if a website is trustworthy?
How can I determine if a website is reliable?
How can I find information about a particular topic using
technology?
What does proper citation look like?
Why is it important to cite my sources?
What are some ways that I can organize the information that I
have collected using technology?
Modifications:
The students who have difficulty reading will be
accommodated through the teacher reading the material to
them. The students who have trouble writing will be paired
with a student who does not have trouble writing, the teacher
will also be around to assist students with difficulties. The
teacher will display many materials visually as well as read
them verbally. Students who need tests read to them or who
need shortened tests will also be accommodated for.
Materials: Chromebooks, the internet, projector, white board, dry erase markers.

1. The teacher and students will read the
objectives for the day together.
2. The students will take a pretest (quick check)
over source citation and identifying a
trustworthy website. (Two Brainpop Quizs
over online resources and citing sourcesstudents email results)
3. The teacher will refresh the students on what
a trusted website looks like and the components
that it must have to be considered trusted.
4. The students will rewatch the video from
Brainpop entitled Online Resources.
5. The students will then navigate to Google
classroom and complete the website evaluation
checklist for one of the listed websites.
6. Students will turn this assignment in via the
Google Drive.
