Instruction for installing driver for camera on Vista 32 or 64

1. Uninstall any old conflicting AmScope or ScopeTek Driver (Do this only if
you have previously installed AmScope or ScopeTek Driver, but it did not
work. Follow procedures in Step 1 to uninstall it.)
(If no AmScope or ScopeTek driver was installed, then go to step 2.)
To check if any old driver was installed, device should be plugged in PC to perform the
uninstallation process.
a. Go to COMPUTER - > SYSTEM PROPERTIES -> DEVICE MANAGER.
Right click on the device and choose the Uninstall menu item. Then a Confirm
Device Uninstall dialog will pop up.

b. Check the Delete the driver software for this device check button and click
OK. Then the device driver is uninstalled successfully from the system.

c. After that, you should navigate to the program folder and double click
uninst.exe to uninstall the program and old driver completely.
i. If you have installed AmScope software and AmScope drivers:
1. Go to Computer -> Local Disk (C:) -> Program Files ->
Amscope -> Amscope
2. And double click uninst.exe to uninstall the software

3. Go to Computer -> Local Disk (C:) -> Program Files ->


Amscope -> Devices
4. And double click uninst.exe to uninstall the drivers

5. Restart the computer


ii. If you have installed ScopeTek software and ScopeTek drivers:
1. Go to Computer -> Local Disk (C:) -> Program Files ->
ScopeTek
2. And double click uninst.exe to uninstall the software

3. Restart the computer

2. Install AmScope Software:


a. Make sure the camera is not plugged in the USB yet
b. Do not use CD that comes with your camera. Please download
amscope.zipfrom http://www.amscope.com/download
c. Unzip the folder
d. Double click amscope.exe to install the software
e. After installation, restart the computer

3. Install Driver:

Download amdevice.zip from http://www.amscope.com/download


Unzip the folder
Double click install device.exe to install the drivers
Restart computer and make sure camera is NOT plugged in USB

4. Open Amscope program

Open AmScope program


Plug in camera via USB
It will search and install the driver automatically
After hardware installation finishes, your camera should be visible and running

5. If you need to change camera


a. If you need to change camera, please close Amscope Program, then remove
the first Camera
b. Re-open AmScope program, and plug in the new camera
c. Let it search and install the driver for the new camera
d. Note: if you change camera while the program is running, you may receive an
error message. If this happens, restart Amscope program and plug in the
camera again.
