Vision Statement

VISION STATEMENT
The purpose and goals for education in our current society are for each student to
be given the best opportunity within their unique ability to be able to successfully
contribute to society in a positive way. It is my hope that a young student is inspired
early on, so that they know there is a place in the world to make a positive impact. Dr.
Spencer Kagan states, We believe strongly that we should teach students by matching
our instruction to their strengths. (Kagan, 1994, chap. 1:13). As a teacher, I gladly take
on the role as an educator to assist students with attaining the skills and techniques
required for them to be the best citizens that they can be. While valuing the need of
community, I aspire for each student to strive to be able to attain a purposeful career. I
too, value contributing to education and my community.
As a young student, I was an anomaly. I moved to a new campus each school
year, and too often for my progress to be tracked. Thankfully, a teacher noticed that I was
a gifted learner and should join the gifted and talented program. Many years later, it was
discovered that I had dyslexia. I account much of my success to the wonderful teachers
that daily reminded me of what I was capable of and not what my limits were. I want to
be the teacher like those I had experienced. Thankfully, we now have neuroscience to
support what I had discovered as a young student. The most amazing new discovery
about the brain might be that human beings have the capacity and the choice to be able to
change their own brains (Jensen, ,10). Every child is capable of learning and succeeding,
and I want to inspire students to work hard and understand there are no limits to what
they can achieve.

Vision Statement

There are students that are at risk of failing, and it is merely due to lack of
structure. As a teacher it is my duty to provide on the very first day of school what is to
be expected. With routines and procedures put in place it is inevitable that each student
will gravitate towards the path of achievement. When poor behavior arises, I respectfully
redirect the student as to what our routine and procedures are. It is my job to provide that
same opportunity to learn and be valued for each student. I provide a sense community
that everyone feels accepted and a method that works best for our classroom as a whole,
while being understanding to the rate of progress for each learner. It is my responsibility
every day to come prepared, encourage others, and help every student with understanding
what it looks like to give their best.
Outside of the classroom it is my role to provide support for the goals of our
school district and community. I model excellent, commendable behavior in all that I
represent. This especially includes supporting each students family. I can provide
resources available in order to meet the needs of each family as it arises. It is helpful to
inform families about the progress of their child. I want to invite the understanding that
each person has multiple intelligences. When doing this, I acknowledge and explore how
each of my students learns. After identifying and evaluating them, I inform the student
and guardian how we can enhance their journey in education. This inspires them to value
their unique design of learning and how to become a life long learner. When lessons arise
that might come as a challenge for them, multiple intelligence awareness aids us in how
to better reach our goals. We can create different techniques to better serve the learners
needs.

Vision Statement

As a staff member, I work closely with the team to reach our goals (Texas Teacher
Proficiencies, 1994). It is my thinking that it is our job to do what ever it takes to help
our entire school succeed. While compromising can play a role in this, I will safeguard
the needs of my classroom while doing so. We will ensure to create a safe learning
environment of unity, all while making our classroom a fun place to be. In all that I do
with the combined practices, theories, and campus partnership, my vision continues to
prove for a successful experience in elementary education.
