Starting from HYSYS V7.
0, there are three groups of property packages to select
from in the Basis Environment: HYSYS, Aspen Properties, and COMThermo. This
updated view changed the procedures to setup a DBR Amine package slightly: user
is given a shortcut to speed up the setup process, or the user can take the step-bystep procedures with some precautions.
The shortcut Approach recommended
1. Under the COMThermo group, select DBR Amine Package from the
Property Package Selection dropdown list. In this step, the vapor and liquid
models are selected, and the DBRAmineFlash is setup.
2. Select the desired thermodynamic method from the Model Selection
window, then click OK.
3. If a component list (from HYSYS Databanks) has been setup and was the
default list, HYSYS will create an empty component list and disconnect the
default list from the DBRAmine package. During this process HYSYS will issue
the following warning messages:
Remember to click No to the second message; otherwise you have to recreate the original component list or manually add the desired components to
the newly created component list. Choose the original component list from
the Select Component List drop down menu. The fluid package is now ready
to use; close all open views and enter the Simulation Environment.
4. If no component list has been setup, the view after step 2 will look like the
following figure and the user needs to add the desired components to the
new component list.
5. Once all components are added, click on Extended PropPkg Setup button and
select the appropriate method.
The Step-by-Step Approach
1. Under the COMThermo group, first select DBRAmine in the Model
Selection list for the Vapor Model Phase.
2. Then select DBRAmine in the Model Selection list for the Liquid Model
Phase. Remember to select DBRAmineFlash under the Model Phase group
box! This will ensure the DBRAmine Flash routine will be used.
3. If a component list (from HYSYS Databanks) has been setup and was the
default list, then click on Extended PropPkg Setup button, and repeat step 3
in the Shortcut Approach.
4. If the component list is empty, then repeat steps 4 and 5 in the Shortcut
approach.
