Worksheet: Math Grade9 Marks 15 Linear Function Plotting & Graphing Section1

This worksheet covers linear functions and graphing skills. It contains three sections: 1) answering questions about linear equations, slopes, and evaluating expressions; 2) completing expressions involving coordinate pairs, y-intercepts, and tables; 3) using a table to plot a graph, determine if the slope is increasing or decreasing, and find the x-intercept. Learners must understand key concepts like domain, range, gradient, and intercepts, and be able to perform calculations and plot points to draw linear graphs on a coordinate plane. Developing these math skills is important for understanding real-world applications involving directions and cardinal points. Regular practice is needed to build proficiency.

SUMMARY
Skills
Skills learned includes: using the calculations
obtained; ruler and pencils to draw two
dimensional planes on the grid. They should be
able to count the runs and the rises on the
Cartesian plane.
They should be able to plot those points
interpreted from the functions as output & input,
and then join them into finished graphs.
Knowledge
Before the skills above they need to have
knowledge about certain terminology; terms &
procedures. Eg. Domain; Range; Gradient ;
Intercepts etc. Procedures include the BODMAS
rule & plotting points.
Values
Learners need to appreciate the content of
Mathematics and be able to apply it on day to
day life. Eg. The runs & the rise help with the
cardinal points or directions. IT Can help with
direction on a map or even a person who lost
direction.
Attitude
Learners need to like the subject be able to play
games with it. They need to practice on regular
basis.
