SQUID is a Proxy server and also used for web filtering.

Its widely
used for increasing web server speed by caching repeated data. It is
also used to block the websites.
Port Number: 3128
Configuration file: /etc/squid/squid.conf

Step1: Insatall squid daemon

Step2: Restart the daemon

Step3:

Create couple of webpages in /var/www/html

Step4: Edit the configuration file /etc/squid/squid.conf

Step5: Change the http_port to 8080

Step6: Restart the daemon

Step7:

Go to Mozilla Firefox

Options ->Advance ->Network->Setting->Manual proxy setting


IP Address: Servers IP
Port Number: 8080
Click OK

Step8: Check for blocked websites.
