DOUBLE COMPARATIVES

1.- GET + COMPARATIVE.


Maths is hard.
Maths is getting hard. ( it expresses a process)
Maths is getting harder and harder (here the change is permanent and increasing)
You can use other verbs which show process , such as Be. Become, Turn, Get
Living in Spain is expensive.
Living in Spain is getting expensive.
Living is getting more and more expensive.

2.- The + Comparative The + Comparative.


It will be easier if we do it as early as possible.- The earlier (we do it) the easier (it will be)
It will be better if she is as experienced as possible The more experience the better
Youll get better results if you study harder The harder you study, the better results youll get
Also with sentences: The more you insist, the more hell reject your proposal

2.- THE + COMPARATIVE THE +COMPARATIVE.


2.1.- With adjectives.- The + adj (in comparative form) + The + adj (in comparative form)
2.2.- With sentences. The + more/less + clause + The + more/less + clause
2.3.- Mixed type: The + more/less + clause + The + adj (in comparative form)
