At the end of the course, ALL students will take a State End of Course Test. This test is created and graded by
the State of North Carolina and will cover the objectives listed on the syllabus. Please keep in mind that county
policy requires this test be 25% of your final grade.
Make-up Work: MAKE UP WORK IS THE STUDENTS RESPONSIBILITY. When returning from an absence, please
check Google Classroom and the Make-up word bins to obtain your make up work. When returning from an
absence you will have one day for every day absent to complete any assignments. It is the students
responsibility to get any notes that were missed. All make up work should be turned in before or after class, not
during.
GOOGLE CLASSROOM: www.classroom.google.com Google Classroom is a safe social learning platform that
lets our class connect both at school and from home. Classroom materials, a calendar of assignments, links, and
other information will be posted DAILY. Google Classroom is intended for educational purposes only. Any
inappropriate or irrelevant content will be deleted. Google Classroom is available to both students and parents.
Parents can email or call me for a parent code that will allow you to access assignments and grades. Students
will sign up for and account during the first couple of days of class and have access all semester.
Internet Usage Policy and Internet Safety: Please refer to New Hanover Board Policy 7188.
Important NOTE: Students are only allowed to use the internet with teachers approval. Students are not
allowed to download programs, install software, surf inappropriate websites, play games during instructional
time or insert personal DVD/CDs into the computer.
** The majority of work will be done in class. However, occasional homework or projects may be assigned.
*** Daily assignments will be posted on Google Classroom for parents and students. Please do not hesitate
to call or e-mail me with questions or concerns. I am here to support your Ashley Student.
