This document introduces a mini project on understanding fractions for students. It lists 8 questions about fractions, including defining the different parts of a fraction with examples, the three types of fractions and examples of each, and using a fractions strategy with an equation, word problem, and picture. The goal is for students to demonstrate their understanding of fractions, their language and representation.

Hello Marvellous Mathematicians.
This week our mini project is about
understanding fractions. It is important in maths that we understand the language and what words mean too, not just numbers. Check out your questions below: 1- What is a Fraction? What type of a number is it? 2- What are the different parts of a fraction? Provide an example by drawing the symbol(What is the symbol?) 3- What does the denominator represent or mean? Draw pictures to show your thinking. 4-What does the numerator represent or mean? Draw pictures to show your thinking. 5- What are the three types of fractions? 6- Write a definition for each of these three fractions and provide examples. 7- How are these types of fractions different from one another? 8- Pick one fractions strategy that you have learnt so far this term. For this strategy, do the following: - Write an equation - Write a word problem - Draw a picture to represent this.
