Field Trip

Mr. Hall's English 10 class will take a field trip to see a production of The Tempest at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Students will take a bus leaving the school at 4:30pm, arriving at Navy Pier around 5:30pm, where they will have dinner before the 7pm show. The bus will return to school after the show, arriving around 1:30am. Parents are welcome to attend and information is provided about nearby hotels. Driving directions and contact information is also included. The objectives of seeing a live Shakespeare production and expectations for student behavior are outlined.

THE TRIP

COST: $20 (for students)


$35 (for parents)

After reading William Shakespeare play, The Tempest, student in Mr. Halls English 10
class will be treated to director
Aaron Posners Chicago Shakespeare Theater adaptation. Students should arrive at the school
at 4 pm (Eastern time) to load
the bus. The bus (for students
and chaperones only), will leave
the school at no later than 4:30.
The bus should arrive at Navy
Pier at approximately 5:30
(Central time), leaving plenty of
time for dinner before the show
(see the inside for options). Students should meet at the entrance to the theatre to collect
tickets and seat themselves at no
later than 6:45. Immediately following the show, the bus will return to school, likely arriving
around 1:30 am.

PLACES TO STAY
As we will be seeing an evening
show, it will end rather late.
While the bus will be returning
to school, parents who wish to
attend may want to spend the
night in the city. Some accommodations in the area include:
Fairmont Chicago Millennium
Park, Embassy Suites, Hilton
Chicago, and others.

to Ohio Street, then East on
Ohio. Take a right on Fairbanks/ Columbus Drive, left on

Illinois Street exit. Right on Illinois (1st light) to Navy Pier.

there. Students are discouraged from leaving the pier.
