Councilmember Gloria Comments on SANDAGs Uptown Bike Project

SAN DIEGO, CA (June 5, 2015) Councilmember Todd Gloria today released the following
comment about the SANDAG Uptown Regional Bike Corridor Project.
After extensive community input, I was happy to approve a recommendation for the
Uptown Regional Bike Corridor Project that will get us closer to realizing this $40
million dollar investment in our active transportation network, said Councilmember
Todd Gloria. Today the SANDAG Transportation Committee directed staff to move
forward with final engineering of the Uptown Regional Bike Project with a constrained
network that keeps Washington on-ramp open with a protected bikeway and sidewalk
and maintains the protected bikeway on the east side of University from the original
proposal. I look forward to continuing to work with SANDAG and community
stakeholders to secure a significant investment in safer streets in my Council District.
