Book Clubs

We have finished our final book

club! Wow! I wanted to say
how proud I am of everyone!
The discussions you had
together, and your deep under the ocean
thinking has changed so much since the beginning
of the year!
Our Final Thoughts test will be on Friday.
Remember, what the test covers is never a surprise!
You will need to practice the same 4 parts:
1. The four boxes covering main characters,
setting, main problem and solution.
2. Plot map with 7 main events.
3. How a main character changes.
4. Appropriate theme for the book.
You will need to get a parent signature each night
to verify you studied. Each day study evidence
will be assigned.

Reading Lotto

You need to be reading your

fourth book for the final Reading
LOTTO!
Lotto. Due June 5. You can still
turn this in early. You can also
turn in your Blackout Lotto by
Monday, June 1. Everyone
with a Blackout Lotto will be
participating in an all day Read-o-Rama on
Tuesday, June 2nd. Everyone who qualifies
should come to school on the 2nd with lots of
books to read and anything to make you
comfortable: sleeping bag, pillow, stuffed animal,
snacks etc. All participants will be excused from
routine classwork. Hooray!

Gold Miners Supper

We will be celebrating the

end of our Gold Rush
simulation with some gold
panning and a gold miners
supper on Monday, June
8th, at 1:00. I posted a signsheet for this event on our
classroom wiki last week. And, thanks to

your generosity, we are almost covered

for food items! We are also still in need
of parent volunteers. We need 2
parents who are willing to come in and
help out in the classroom from 1:00 to
3:25. Thanks for making this happen!!!
