Lee Vance, Chief of Police: Jackson Police Department 327 East Pascagoula Street Jackson, MS 39205

The Jackson Police Department released a statement announcing that on March 24, 2015, officers responded to a reported carjacking on Raymond Rd. near Shady Lane. During the investigation, inconsistencies were found in the victim Jairus Davis's account of events. Davis had reported being robbed at gunpoint while changing a flat tire and having his car stolen. However, evidence questioned his story. Davis has been charged with arson for burning his vehicle, which was later found on fire, and with false pretense for falsifying a police report about the incident.
