Lesson 9

This document discusses three main kinds of resistors: 1) Carbon film resistors which have a solid cylindrical resistive element with wire leads or end caps. The body is protected with paint or plastic. 2) Metal film resistors which have a carbon film deposited on an insulating substrate and can withstand 200-600 volts. 3) Printed carbon resistors which are printed directly onto printed circuit boards as part of the manufacturing process.

Lesson 9

Kinds of
Resistors

1. Carbon film resistors

Consist of a solid cylindrical

resistive
element
with
embedded wire leads or metal
end caps to which the lead
wires are attached. The body
of the resistor is protected
with paint or plastic.

2.Metal film

A
carbon
film
is
deposited on an insulating
substrate, It has 200 to
600
volts
maximum
working voltage range.

3. Printed carbon
resistor
Carbon composition resistors
can be printed directly onto
printed circuit board (PCB)
substrates as part of the PCB
manufacturing process.
