This document provides guidelines for a school project where students will research their family's cultural heritage and a country connected to that heritage. Cultural Heritage & Country

Project
You will be learning about your family's cultural heritage and researching a country
connected to one of your heritages. This is again a project so you will be putting
everything together into an attractive display poster to share what you have learned.
Follow the guidelines below to get 100% of the points possible, 25 out of 25.
PROJECT DUE DATE - Monday, April 13th. Presentations will be scheduled.
Poster Board size 12 x 18 piece of poster board. No larger please for display
purposes.
Research Poster - 15 points

Appearance & neatness count!

1. Title of Ethnicity - clear and eye-catching, (1 point)


2. Country of Origin & Map of Country - picture & clearly mark the city of your familys origin
(1 point)
3. Flag of that Country - picture & explain the colors/symbols on the flag (2 point)
4. Language Spoken of that Country - name of language , 2-3 examples of words spoken eg)
color, number or greeting or
common phrases with translation (2 points)
5. Cultural Art/Music - 3 different types or techniques of an art form of your culture (3 points)
- visual arts, performing arts, music, etc
6. Ethnic Foods - 3 examples of food and/drinks (3 points)
7. Interesting Facts - include any of the following (2 points)

Copies of photographs of relatives/ancestors from that culture

Traditional clothing

Currency

Games or sports played

Oral Presentation - 5 points


Participation - 1 point
Volume - 1 point
Composure - 1 point
Knowledge & Preparedness - 2 points
Cultural Food Sharing - 5 points

(Time limit - 5 minutes)

Share an ethnic food of your choice with the class. It only needs to be a small sampling.
We have a total of 26 students and 1 teacher. Student should include this particular food
on his/her poster as one of the examples and explain a little about the food.
