Description of artifact and how the artifact meets the standard:
As an educator it is important to demonstrate the ability to enhance academic performance and
support for implementation of the school districts student achievement goals by using available
resources, including technologies, in the developmental and sequencing of instruction.
This is achieved by planning a variety of experiences outside of the classroom, to help in the
development of instruction. This includes going on field trips to places that are related to the current
topic of study, and allowing the students to get a better understanding of our theme.
Reflection on artifact (what went right, what went wrong, how to make better):
The students really enjoy going on field trips, and having visitors come to our classroom. During our
study of dental health, we had a dentist come visit. While learning about fire safety, we had
firefighters and a fire truck come to the school. We also have the librarians come visit often, which is
something the students really enjoy. The librarians are able to connect our current studies with the
books they come to read, which helps to expand on their current understanding. We visit the
pumpkin patch and apple orchard, which is very exciting for the preschoolers.
