Miss Albright's Class News: Announcements

Miss Albright's class will have a picnic with another school on February 27th. The next PTO and restaurant fundraiser nights will be March 9th and 10th. The book fair and a field trip to a health expo are scheduled for March. Spring break will be March 23-27. This week in class, students will learn about measurement in math and dental health in social studies. Sight words and vocabulary words were also listed.

Announcements:

On Friday, February 27
we will be having a picnic
lunch and reading with
students from WMR. If
your child will be a home
lunch, please make sure all
items are disposable.
The next PTO meeting will
be March 9th at 6:00 pm.
The next DRES restaurant
night is March 10th at
McAllisters.
March 9-13 is the spring
book fair.
First grade will take a field
trip to the Southern
Union Health Expo on
March 17th. More
information will be sent
home soon.
Spring Break will be March
23-27.

Star Student
Our STAR student for February
16-20 was Carter Stewart for
demonstrating confidence.
Next weeks character trait is
independence.

A Peek at Our Week


Reading/Language Arts: Our phonics skill for
this week is ur, ir, er (burn, skirt, her). Our
comprehension skill is cause and effect. In
grammar we are writing sentences with
adjectives. We are also reviewing capitalization
and punctuation rules.
Math: This week we will being learning about
measurement. We will measure objects using
standard and nonstandard units of
measurement. We will also compare objects by
length.
Social Studies: We are learning about dental
health.

Sight Words: another, climb, four, great,


through, poor
Vocabulary Words: certain, observe, thoughtful,
remained, vast, stretched, leaped
