HOW DOES THE
GORILLA MOVE?
Gorillas are basically the
model of a humans, they
walk on all fours . Their arms
are longer than their legs so
when they walk on all fours
they look right side up. The
movement of a Gorillas are
unusual for an animal with
four legs.
WHAT IS THE GORILLAS APPERENCE?
Like all great apes a Gorillas arms are
longer than its legs. Gorillas have big
muscles they can fight off predators easily.
Gorillas have fur all over them. On
average a male Gorilla will only weigh
around 310 to 440 pounds. Males are larger
than females, and are usually around
1.7milimeters (5 feet tall).

WHAT IS THE GORILLAS
HABITAT AND RANGE?
The Gorillas habitat is mainly in the rain
forest and in other forest all around the
world, but the most common place they
are found is in the rain forests. About 700
Gorillas can mostly be found on the 3
dominate volcanoes, such as the
Karaisimbi volcano, the Mikeno volcano,
and the Visoke volcano.
What are the Gorillas
adaptions?
Gorillas
have many adaptions to their
environment. Since they are based in the forest,
Eastern Gorillas have good eyesight that helps
them to detect other animals. Eastern Gorillas
have adapted to very well for its life style. They
have a strong upper body, long arms, fingered
hands, and thumbs which all aid in walking,
climbing, and food retrieval.

Gorillas generally rely on their powerful
arms, which are fully developed with

muscular arms, which allows them to fight
off predators, grasp and break twigs,
branches, and move through trees.

ENIMIES?
In
the wild their only predators are
leopards which can attack their
youngsters, and the biggest threat to
Gorillas is man.

Western
lowland and Cross river Gorillas
are listed as critically endangered on the
IUCN Red list of threatened species.
Eastern lowland and Mountain Gorillas
are listed as endangered on the red list.

their size and current popularity,
Gorillas remained a mystery to people
living out side of Africa until a missionary
described them in 1847. After
chimpanzees, Gorillas are our closets
relatives, sharing about 98% of our genes.
