Example of Classical Conditioning in Classroom

The document describes an example of classical conditioning in a classroom setting. Initially, when the teacher would count down from ten, the students would not sit in their places. During conditioning, the teacher counted down and had the students sit in their places. After conditioning, when the teacher counted down, the students would sit in their places without being told. Similarly, with writing the alphabet, at first the students could not write the alphabet unaided, but after the teacher provided handwriting examples and practice, the students could write the alphabet when asked. Thus, the students' behaviors were conditioned through repeated association between a stimulus and response.

A student may earn gifts from teacher for each A they

get on a test. Students benefit under this theory
because they are motivated to do well.
Punish students who engage in behaviour that is
undesirable. For example, teacher should punish a
student who did not complete the task given by
teachers.
