Class Room Light Control System

This document discusses a classroom light control system that uses motion sensors to reduce energy consumption from lighting. It consists of three main parts: a motion sensor to detect presence or absence of people, an electronic control unit (microprocessor) to process the sensor readings, and a controllable switch/relay to turn lights on and off accordingly. Motion sensors are wall-mounted switches or ceiling/wall-mounted units for larger areas that activate lights when motion is detected and turn them off after a set period of no movement. The system aims to automatically control lights based on occupancy to save energy by not operating lights when a classroom or other space is unoccupied.

Abstract

Class room light control system

Lighting is one of the single largest users of electrical energy in a typical commercial
building. So,this project aimed to reduce energy consumption of light in the presence or
absence of people and turn lights on and off accordingly in the office ,class room and
ware house. While motion sensor have become a mainstream solution for eliminating
wasted lighting energy in these applications.A complete sensor unit consists of a motion
sensor, an electronic control unit(microprocessor), and a controllable switch/relay.were
motion sensors are devices that turn lights and other equipment on or off in response to
the presence (or absence) of people in a defined area.

Motion sensor application and its working

principles in light control system
motion sensors are devices that turn lights and other equipment on or off in response to
the presence (or absence) of people in a defined area. A complete sensor unit consists of
a motion sensor, an electronic control unit, and a controllable switch/relay. It also has a
timer which signals the electronic control unit after a set period of inactivity.Units are
available in wall-mounted switch configuration for use in offices or other small areas and
in ceiling and wall-mounted configurations for large, open areas.
