Gercutter PRO USB Driver Installation Guide for Windows 7

Insert Gercutter SW driver CD into PC CD Drive.


Ensure power cable is attached to the plotter and turn plotter ON.
Connect plotter to the PC using USB cable.
Message shown in Figure 1 pops up in bottom right portion of the screen. Do nothing and wait.

5) New message shown in Figure 2 pops up in the bottom right portion of the screen. Do nothing and wait
until message disappears.

6) Open Device Manager by clicking on Windows Start button

7) Window shown in Figure 3 pops up.

8) Right Click on CDC RS-232 Emulation Demo and select Update Driver Software
9) Window shown in Figure 4 pops up. Click on Browse my computer for driver software.

10) Window shown in Figure 5 pops up. Click on Browse button and select PROUSBDRV which is
located on the GERCUTTER CD inside your cd drive. The text in the box should look something like
this: D:\Usb_Driver\pro_USB driver. Your window should look like Figure 5 then hit Next.

11) Window shown in Figure 6 pops up. Click on Install this driver software anyway.

12) Window shown in Figure 7 pops up. Click on "Close" button.

Driver installation is now finished. Congratulations!


In preparation for the next step which is to install Flexi 8 Starter SW you must note the Port number where
the Refine PRO series Driver was installed. You can do this with Device Manager.
In Device Manager, scroll down to Ports (COM & LPT). As you can see in Figure 8 the PRO Series driver
was installed in COM3. Most likely it will be a different number in your machine. Please make a note of the
COM PORT number that was used in your machine as you will need this info later when setting up Flexi 8
Starter SW.
