48IDA Jetting and Adjustment Guide

This document provides jetting and adjustment specifications for a Weber 48IDA carburetor used on a 13B bridge port engine. It lists the recommended main jet, air corrector, idle jet, emulsion, venturi, and needle valve sizes along with the fuel pressure and air/mixture settings. An increase in the main jet size enriches the fuel mixture across all RPMs while an increase in the air corrector jet has more effect above 5000 RPM. Adjusting the main jet and air corrector jet interact, with one step up on the main jet requiring three steps down on the air corrector to maintain the proper fuel mixture.

An increase in main jet size will make the carburetor RICHER, an increase in air correction jet size will make the carburetor LEANER.

A change in main jet will affect fuel mixture over the entire RPM range.

A change in air correction jet will have greater effect above 5000 RPM.

1 step up on the Main Jet (Richer) = 3 steps down on the Air Corrector (Less air: Richer)
Idle Jet may be considered lean if Air/Mixture screw is more than 2-1/2 turns out
