Projectionof Planes

This document discusses orthographic projections and how to project points and lines onto planes. It provides information on: 1) The quadrant structure used for positioning objects in different locations relative to the horizontal and vertical planes. 2) How projecting a sample point A onto the planes results in different front, top, and side views depending on which quadrant the point is placed. 3) Notations used to label the different views of objects in orthographic projections.

Projection of Points and Lines

1. Projections Information
2. Notations
3. Quadrant Structure.
5. Projections of a Point in 1st quadrant.
4. Object in different Quadrants Effect on position of views.
TO DRAW PROJECTIONS OF ANY OBJECT,
ONE MUST HAVE FOLLOWING INFORMATION
A) OBJECT
{ WITH ITS DESCRIPTION, WELL DEFINED.}
B) OBSERVER
{ ALWAYS OBSERVING PERPENDICULAR TO RESP. REF.PLANE}.
C) LOCATION OF OBJECT,
{ MEANS ITS POSITION WITH REFFERENCE TO H.P. & V.P.}
TERMS ABOVE & BELOW WITH RESPECTIVE TO H.P.
AND TERMS INFRONT & BEHIND WITH RESPECTIVE TO V.P
FORM 4 QUADRANTS.
OBJECTS CAN BE PLACED IN ANY ONE OF THESE 4 QUADRANTS.

IT IS INTERESTING TO LEARN THE EFFECT ON THE POSITIONS OF VIEWS ( FV, TV )
OF THE OBJECT WITH RESP. TO X-Y LINE, WHEN PLACED IN DIFFERENT QUADRANTS.
ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTIONS
OF POINTS, LINES, PLANES, AND SOLIDS.
STUDY ILLUSTRATIONS GIVEN ON NEXT PAGES AND NOTE THE RESULTS.TO MAKE IT EASY
HERE A POINT A IS TAKEN AS AN OBJECT. BECAUSE ITS ALL VIEWS ARE JUST POINTS.
