Live Project Opportunity from Kirloskar

IIM Indore brings to you a live project from Kirloskar, global fluid management solutions provider and
the largest manufacturer and exporter of centrifugal pumps and valves from India. The company is
investigating the business opportunity for their new offering, Submersible Pumps. This project is taken
up on a pan-IIM basis with each of the institutes being allocated different perspectives of the project.
The following categories are allocated to IIM Indore: (for reasons of confidentiality, all participating
institutes have been requested to not disclose these categories to others)
1. Competitor Analysis
2. Industry Analysis (using Porters 5 forces)
3. Investigation of Synergies with existing lines of business
4. Assessment of Market Potential, and
5. Execution-to-Market strategy
Participants may please apply to any one of the aforementioned topics for the live project by submitting
100-word SOP (Statement of Purpose) to endorse their candidature for the live project. Participants may
also please submit a hard copy of their resume.
Team Size Selected participants would be divided in teams of 4
Duration 4 to 6 weeks
Time requirement 20 hours/week
Stipend INR 5000/month per participant
PS: Prior knowledge in Mechanical Engineering/Operations/Manufacturing is not a pre-requisite for the
application. The company has ensured that the right amount of information about the industry and
relevant training will be provided to the selected candidates.
