Think-Tac-Toe

Unit/Theme: Pre-Calculus 12B- Polynomials
Choose any 3 activities that create a line (diagonal, horizontal, vertical) and complete your choices on a separate
piece of paper.

Write the formulas for the sum and
difference of cubes.

Explain the difference between permutations
and combinations. When would you use
each?

Complete the long division for:

Compare the different methods of
factoring and when (may provide
example) each would be most
effective. You should include
greatest common factor, simple
trinomials, hard trinomials, prefect
squares trinomials, difference of
squares.

Create a poem/rap/video/song, etc. about the
factoring methods and how to factor
polynomials.

Find the values of a and b if

has a remainder of -2 when divided

by (x-1) and a remainder of 2 when divided
by (x-2).

Factor completely:

3x
4
- 13x
3
- 16x
2
+ 68x + 48

When you solve 16x
3
+ 48x
2
x 3 = 0, you
get: (x+3)(4x - 1)(4x+1) = 0. Where will the
function cross the x-axis? Graph the
function.

Analyze Pascals Triangle. There are many
hidden patterns. Try to find at least three
patterns and then refer to online resources
to see what other patterns there are.
