Assure Model Lesson Plan
Analyze Learners
General Characteristics: This lesson plan is created for 22 students in the Cycle two Year two
(5
TH
grade) classroom. Students are a mixture of ethnicities, ages between 9 through 11 years
old. Students come from low and middle class homes. Students are on different learning levels
and styles.
Entry Competencies: Students are aware o that the classroom is a multicultural classroom.
Students have previous knowledge of using the e-mail, bar graphs, continents, attaching links,
watching videos, and using classroom blogs.
Learning Styles: The learning styles in the classroom vary from audio learners, visual learners,
and kinesthetic learners.

Standards:
Domain: Social Skills
Standard 1 Is equipped and empowered to work in groups.
Domain- Self-Regulation
Standard 2- Knows how to maintain himself or herself mentally, emotionally and physically.
Domain: Work Attitude
Standard 3 Knows and applies the prerequisites to approach work.
Domain: Oral Linguistic Skill
Standard 3 Can apply listening and speaking strategies with different objectives.

Standard 1 Develop basic skills and understand simple math language
Domain: Calculation
Standard 2 Can use the four basic operations (+ - : x) according to standard procedures or
variations in simple situations.
Domain: Proportions
Standard 3 Calculating ratios, proportions, fractions, decimals and percentages
Objectives:
Students will learn to define the term culture.
Students will watch a YouTube video about culture and write their own
interpretation of culture.
Students will perform a survey about the various cultures in their school and create a bar
chart based on data results.
Students will choose a country on a website, read about it, and answer questions on a
comment box.
Students will create a Wordle o the meaning of culture.
Select Methods, Media, Materials
Instructional methods are:
The main instructional method being used is using technology to integrate the topic about culture
in a thematic unit. Students will learn about culture through different subjects and activities.
Students will be able to learn from each other by viewing each other posts and also guiding each
other through peer tutor.

Materials used are:
Laptop/Computer is the materials used.

Utilize Media, Materials, Method
Preview the technology, materials, and media:
Teachers will verify that the website is working appropriately. Teacher will check all functions,
such as comment boxes, videos, and links are available, and create an age appropriate website.
Prepare the technology, materials, and media:
Teacher will try all videos, links, and other programs available on website or testing before students can
access the website, including internet access if students may start in the classroom or school.
Prepare the environment:
Teacher will confirm if students have access to a computer/laptop or tablet at home to complete daily
assignments, I not teacher will provide students with an in class computer to complete daily assignment.
Otherwise, the website will be a child friendly environment to cater to 5th grade students.
Prepare the environment:
Teacher will have a brie demonstration of how to access and use the website. If the teacher has access to a
smart board he/she will demonstrate whole class I not teacher can take students to the lab, or call them by
groups to demonstrate on classroom computer.
Provide the learning experiences:
Students will encounter learning experiences as soon as they start on the website. Students will be
informed what the thematic unit is about and learn about cultures through different subject matters, such
as English, social studies, Science and Technology, Mathematics, and Art. Students will not only learn
about the culture theme but learn the different ways to use technology, and share comments amongst each
other.
Require Learner Participation
Student practice activities:
Students will use the Culture thematic unit as reinforcement or what they have been learning in
the classroom. Student will also be required to participate in all activities in order to gain full
points.
Feedback:
Teacher will have daily checkups to keep track of which students are participating daily on the
website. Students will have access to send information to teachers email and the teacher can
send messages through the email or intervene in the comment boxes if students may be off
course.
Evaluate and Revise
Assessment of Learner Achievement:
Students assessment will be based on daily participation, involvement, clearly following
instructions, and overall completion of website thematic unit.
Evaluation of strategies, technology and media:
Teacher will give the students the opportunity to share their experiences in class, so all students
can have insight how others are feeling and that they are not alone. Teacher will also keep
observe students emails, completion of assignments, and participation to guide those who need it.
Revision:
Based on students sharing teacher will observe and listen to know if something is not clear.
Teacher will demonstrate and reflect on how that can be improved or next time.
