1. How does this code quest support your lesson?

This code quest supports my lesson because it would be a fun way to help
students access the content. Rather than giving them a lecture, students
could find the information on their own. Then the whole class could
debrief together following the activity. Another idea would be to have
students create their own QR codes as part of an assignment to show
proof of their research and appropriate use of sources.

2. How will you use this code quest in the classroom? (i.e. Will you post QR
codes around the room? Will you provide a handout with the QR codes as
possibly a worksheet to be completed?)

I would post them around the room just to get kids up and moving. I
would give them a worksheet to fill out with questions relating to the QR
codes. I would allow them to work in pairs, so that students without smart
devices could meaningfully participate. Students could also work alone.

3. Which QR code creator did you use? Provide a very brief evaluation of the
QR code creator.

I used Kaywa to create QR codes for this quest. It was very easy to use,
but one downfall is that a user can only create 5 codes before they are
asked to pay for the service. The free codes that you receive are static,
meaning that it is not stored, the content cannot be edited, it cannot be
tracked, and Kaywa does not provide any support on it. If I frequently used
QR codes I might find it beneficial to pay for the service to get the
additional services.

4. Which QR code reader to plan to use? Provide a very brief evaluation of the
QR code reader.

I used QRReader, which is a free QR code reader for iPhone. It was also
very easy to use, and free! Basically the user just focuses on the QR code
and taps the screen and is then immediately directed to the
site/image/video/etc.
