Graphic Arts in the 20

th
century.

1st and 2nd world war posters from Usa, Germany England, Japan:
JAPAN

GERMANY

USA

ENGLAND

Revolution propaganda posters:

CUBA

SOVIET UNION

CHINA

SOUTH AFRICA

Cold war propaganda posters
AMERICA

RUSSIA

These two posters differ merely because one has more type than the other while the Russian poster
places more emphasis on illustration. They both sending the message to end war, ash shown in the
Russian poster, a us soldier is lighting a fuse to a bomb while the Russian hand is clipping the fuse with a
pair of scissors .

Despite the fact that we are in the era of digital communication printed posters are still relevant in
various cases. For instance graphic designers still use posters as a means of communication, they are an
ideal way to reach a target market, because more people are likely to see a poster and more than
once.If they were not relevant we wouldnt still see movie posters and the more people see and
advertisement the more likely it is that they would find interest to look at the organization, company,
events etc.
