The colour pink is very popular among the age group of 11-15 years old which is who I am trying to target.
I like this piece as it includes a religious symbol which I would like to include in my final design. The colour of the cross is light pink which the majority of girls in my survey chose.
The structure of the design is easy to make, allowing me to have time to correct, change and perfect the piece in any areas I lack.
The chain is very thin, which means it is light and easy to carry around. It is a very classy and elegant piece which is preferred (by the age group of 1115 years old). One thing I will have to change is the gold chain to silver as it preferred by the age group I am targeting.
Summary
From this research I have decided I will like to include a religious symbol coloured in light pink and incorporate in one area of my final design. The reasoning for this is that the majority of girls in my survey chose that they prefer a religious symbol in there style of a piece of jewellery.

Necklace
I have chosen a necklace as results from my survey above showed that a necklace was favoured second. This piece of jewellery expresses a lot of personality and style that 1115 year old will look for when buying a piece of jewellery, the colour is very vibrant and interesting allowing it to be mixed and match with many other colours and styles. Black rubber chord already provided by the school. The colour aqua is very popular in the age group of 11-15 year olds shown in survey. Hook clips preferred by 11-15 year olds.
Colour is easy to make (mix, blue, yellow and white) out of polymer clay, which is a material that must be used in our final product. Majority of 11-15 year old prefer a religious symbol (Cross) in there piece of jewellery sown in the survey.
Summary: From this research, I have discovered that I would like to include the
colours pink and aqua in some area of my finally piece along with a religious symbol, preferably a cross. I have chosen these colours as they go well together, are a good match and are both easy to make. The reason why I have decided to incorporate a religious symbol in my design is because it is preferred to be the pendent in my piece then another symbol (resulted in my survey by 11-15 year olds). Another reason why prefer a religious symbol in my final piece of jewellery as in my religion we are all brought up to wear a piece of jewellery on us that symbolises our religion (Lebanese Maronite) , that is holy or relates to God. This way I can wear a classy, dressy piece which still that has a meaning behind it.

4. Dinosaur Designs uses specialist designers for some aspects of their work, for example, architects and graphic designers. Compare the design process used to design Dinosaur Designs' jewellery and that used by the product designer Angelo Kotsis. What are the similarities and differences between the two processes? Dinosaur Designs have many steps in there design process. Firstly they start off by building a prototype plasticine, they then create a mould and cast the resin. Thirdly, they mix colour into clear (transparent) resin and create items. Once this is done they pour the resin into the mould and allow the items to set. They then make final adjustments to the item so that it can be profitable. Angelo Kotsis begins his design process for torches by collecting inspiration and brainstorming ideas for ways he can design different styles of torches. He visualises his ideas by creating models using the 3D printer and manufactures them to see the final result and to test them. The two design processes descripted above are similar as both designers have a certain way in which they create and design there products this is so they are aesthetically appealing. However there is also a difference in the ways each designer creates there work, this is, Dinosaur Designs have an idea in how they want their object to turn out before they begin their design process. Whereas Angelo Kotsis needs to search for inspiration to collect ideas for ways his torch can be constructed. 5. The Dinosaur Designs team are passionate about their work. They use a particular language to communicate their process of design, for example, hand-felt and finessing. Select these words and in the context of the passage, discuss what the designer means by them. Hand felt: Dinosaur Designs define the word hand felt, as a technique were they use their hands to feel areas of an item and find out how it feels and adjust areas needed. An example is resin, they have found out by using this technique that a resin item is usually rough and has harsh edges. This allows them to know what areas of the item they have adjust so that it can be successful. Finessing: Finessing is a technique that the girls use as it means they incorporate many elements in their designs such as, is the item fashionable? Is it good quality? They do this so that it can succeed and be profitable and target many peoples attention my not having a piece that is totally different then whats happening out there.
Line: The line technique on the cushion is very eye-catching as the colours and texture is vibrant lighting up the room.
Colour: There are many colours included in this piece, green, blue, yellow, red and orange. They are very vibrant and exciting which stands out in the room. Texture: The texture of this piece looks very unusual, odd and rough. Line: The colourful circles are positioned in a straight line, making it look like they are dangling from the ceiling. Colour: The colours red, green, yellow and orange compliment the design of each vase. The vases is made out of resin which is transparent, making it look like glass. Texture: The texture looks quite smooth and soft creating a relaxing mood. Line: The lines on the vases are curvy and wide.
1. Dinosaur Designs manufactures all their resin pieces in their own studio. What kinds of Occupational Health & Safety practices might they have to consider for employees working in a studio or workshop environment? Dinosaur Designs have to consider protection towards their workers when dealing with resin. The process of resin is extremely dangerous; to ignore any problems they must have a healthy working environment, adequate facilities, adequate information instruction and training, substances in a safe condition and harmless systems of work.

3. List some of the reasons people wear jewellery. Describe your favourite piece of jewellery and the reasons it is important to you. There are various reasons for why people were jewellery; this could be because they are wearing it as a fashion statement, may be symbolic to them or their religion, to express their wealth or personality. My favourite piece of jewellery is this chain that has a crucifix on it and a pendent which has the three Lebanese Maronite saints printed on it (Saint Rafqua, Nimatullah, Charbel). The reason for this is because this piece was the last piece of jewellery I received from my grandfather, before he died. It is also my favourite piece as the three most important saints in my life that I dedicate my prayers to are on the pendant.
