Middle Marsyangdi Hydro

The Middle Marsyangdi Hydroelectric Power Plant is a 72 MW hydropower plant under construction in Nepal. DYWIDAG International GmbH led the construction effort, which included building an intake structure, spillway, rockfill dam with clay core, tunnels, surge tank, and powerhouse. Over 838,500 cubic meters of material was excavated for the project, including 470,000 cubic meters of underground structures. A key aspect was excavating a 5,133 meter long headrace tunnel with a diameter of 6.40 meters to carry water to the powerhouse.
