The Road Accident Fund adjusts the statutory limit for claims of loss of income and support to R215,320.00 effective 31 January 2014 to counter the effects of inflation as measured by the CPI index. The CPI index for May 2008 was 78.1 and for November 2013 was 105.1, so the R160,000 limit was multiplied by 105.1/78.1 to calculate the adjustment.
