Project Preparation
The purpose of this phase is to initiate the project and complete initial planning and preparation for the SAP solution implementation project. Although each SAP project has its own unique objectives, scope, and priorities; the tasks in Phase 1 help identify and plan the primary focus areas that need to be considered.

Business Blueprint
The purpose of this phase is to gather business requirements and achieve a common understanding of how the company intends to run SAP to support their business. The result is the Business Blueprint, a detailed documentation of the results gathered during requirements workshops.

Realization
The purpose of this phase is to implement business and process requirements based on the Business Blueprint. The goal is to have a solution built and integration tested, with end user training & documentation material prepared, and the production environment designed & setup. In addition, the project team gains relevant knowledge transfer.

Final Preparation
The purpose of this phase is to complete the final preparation (including performance testing, end user training, system management and cutover activities) and gain authorization to cut over to new solution/go live. The Final Preparation phase also serves to resolve all critical open issues. On successful completion of this phase, the business is ready to run with the new SAP based solution.
