THE USE
The Saxon Genitive is used to express

POSSESSION.

THE FORM
In the Saxon genitive, you find the name of a possessor and the name of a thing possessed. In the middle, you find s. F. ex.

Paul has got a ball. Its Pauls ball.


(possessor) (thing possessed)

SOME EXAMPLES
POSSESSORS My father Paul John The children The boys THINGS POSSESSED A house A car Some dogs Some books A ball

My fathers house Pauls car Johns dogs

The childrens books The boys balls

SOME RULES
When the name of the possessor is singular, you write s . When the name of the possessor is singular AND ENDS IN S, you write s.

When the name of the possessor is plural and


regular, you write

(only).

When the name of the possessor is plural and

irregular, you write

s .
