Use of pds 45% population is served @5-7 rs/kg Adoption of technology smart cards---2009 justice wadhwa 2011 aadhaar-- PDS network (or PDSN) as a national information utility company to operate scheme's IT infra Focus on exclusion of ineligible rather than inclusion of eligible Identify prospective beneficiaries--online authentication to ensure only allocated share is taken Introduction of cash transfers and diversification of commodities Full transparency of records Cash transfers/ food coupons in case of empty government inventories National advisory council Strengthening procurement mechanism to help farmers reap from the law and get better value for their produce
