Fluid mechanics has applications in venturi meters and pitot tubes. Venturi meters use Bernoulli principles to measure fluid velocity, where the velocity is highest at the narrowest point of the tube. Pitot tubes also use Bernoulli principles to measure fluid velocity by finding the difference between stagnation and static pressures.
