2 011 Men's Champions Trophy: International Hockey Federation (FIH) announced that India will no longer host the 2011 Men's Champions Trophy due to ongoing problems with the governance of hockey in the country. IMF and World Bank annual meet: Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee would attend the IMF and World Bank annual fund meeting at Washington this month as the President of the G-24 group. UNCTAD predictions about growth rate: India's economic growth rate is likely to climb down to 8.1% in 2011 from 8.6% in the previous year due to slowdown in the global economy, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) informed. Export Controls: The government has decided to lift a ban on wheat exports and put a ban on onion exports to control its rising prices.

Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA): The Government of the Republic of India signed a Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) with the Oriental Republic of Uruguay for the avoidance of double taxation and for the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and on capital. Carol Bartz: Yahoo's CEO, Carol Bartz was fired from her job by Roy Bostock, the company's chairman. The decision of the Yahoo board to fire her was largely based on her dismal performance. Yahoo's CFO Timothy Morse took over as interim CEO. Air Taxi Services: Madhya Pradesh has become the first state in the country to offer air taxi services.
