Jackson/Charvel Setup Specifications


All of the following specifications are for Jackson/Charvel guitars and basses with the standard gauges of strings that the guitar or bass is equipped with from the factory. Compensations may need to be made if you plan to change string gauges. Modifications of the specifications can be made (within limited parameters) to adjust for player application (how hard the player picks or frets the guitar), or other considerations. Note: These are minimum specifications, meant to guide you, not to be taken as hard and fast rules. Always refer to your Jackson/Charvel owner's manual for additional information and/or instruction. Electric Guitar Setup Specs Neck radius 12" to 16" (compound) Electric Guitar Pickup Height Pickup height is measured from the pole piece to the bottom of the string on the bass and treble sides with the last fret depressed. Different pickups have varying degrees of magnetic pull. Always refer to your owners manual for information on which pickups the model of guitar you are working on has. . Bass side Treble side Standard Single-Coil 5/64" 4/64" Humbucking 4/64" 4/64" EMG As close as desired (allowing for string vibration) Electric Bass Guitar Setup Specs Neck radius 12" to 14" (compound) Relief (at 8th fret) .012" String height (at 17th fret) Bass side Treble side 6/64" 5/64" Relief (at 8th fret) .004" String height (at 17th fret) Bass side Treble side 4/64" 3/64"

Bass pickup height is also measured from the pole piece to the bottom of the string on the bass and treble sides with the last fret depressed. Note: Allowances must be made according to the gauge of strings (larger gauges need wider vibration allowance). Different pickups have varying degrees of magnetic pull. Always refer to your owners manual for information on which pickups the model of bass you are working on has.
