INTRODUCTION
See the pictures below and name them
How many mangoes are there in the picture ?
What is the colour of the blackboard ?
Which kind of motion does the ceiling fan below have ?
• The objects are mangoes, a blackboard
and a fan.
• In picture are two mangoes.
• The blackboard is black.
• The fan has a circular motion.

 The bold words tell more about the nouns which


name the objects presented as pictures in the
previous slide. These specific words are called
‘Adjectives’.
Statement of Aim
Today, let’s learn
more about
‘Adjectives’.
Presentation
• I saw bright stars.
• She is beautiful girl.
• I have many pens.
• He carried much rice.

The bold words show quality, quantitative and


number of the nouns that precedes and they
tell more about these nouns. They are regarded
as ‘Adjectives’.

What do you, then, understand by the term,


‘Adjective’ ?
An adjective is a word which tells
something more about the noun it
points out.
An adjective gives the qualitative,
quantitative or numerical attribute to
the noun.
 Suggest other adjectives if you can.
 Try use them in sentences to be made
by you yourselves and underline
them.
