actual mileage varies from the average by at most 4 miles per gallon. Write and solve absolute-value inequality that shows the range for the mileage your car gets.

6. The length of a rectangle is 4 times its width. The

perimeter is at least 30 inches. Write an inequality to find the smallest measurement the length could be.

7. Tom scored a 65, 88, and a 96 on his tests this year. He

has one more exam to take. What is the lowest grade he can get so that his test average is at least 85?
