38 GHZ TX Attenuator: Features

The 38 GHz TX Attenuator provides attenuation for transmit signals from NEC digital microwave radios while introducing minimal loss to received signals. It comprises a directional attenuator, antenna and radio interfaces, and polarizer. Transmit signals are attenuated by over 30 dB while receive signals experience less than 2 dB of loss. The attenuation is frequency flat regardless of power level, allowing interference-free operation near other systems without lowering receive levels. The attenuator is suited for Andrew or RFS antennas and NEC outdoor units in the 38 GHz band, making it useful in areas with strict emission regulations.

38 GHz TX Attenuator

NEC has developed 38GHz TX Attenuator for PASOLINK Series digital microwave radio point-to-point fixed wireless systems. The TX Attenuator comprises directional attenuator, antenna interface, radio mounting interface and polarizer to provide attenuation only for the TX signal. The RX signal power received by the single polarized antenna is sent to outdoor unit (ODU) through the TX Attenuator with less than 2dB loss. On the other hand, the TX signal power transmitted from ODU is sent to antenna through the TX Attenuator with more than 30dB attenuation. The frequency flatness of the attenuation is realized regardless of its power level. The function of the TX Attenuator as mentioned above provides no interference to the adjacent systems without RX level down. Thus TX Attenuator is very useful in the region where EIRP regulation is strict. NEC 38 GHz TX Attenuator is suited for Andrew or RFS Antenna and NEC ODU for 38 GHz Band.
