• We use removable storage device to


store or save our data.
• We can easily carry data anywhere
and anytime.

• It was the first types of storage devices


• It can hold up 160 kB to 1.44 MB of data
• It has limited storage and very easy to lose
or damage.

• It was possible to store more data compare to a


floppy disk.
• We can save videos, movies, games, songs,
pictures with this device.

CD-ROM

• A CD-ROM is similar to a hard drive and floppy


diskette.
• It allowed us to save a big size of data.
• It is still widely used as a storage for songs, videos,
pictures or video games(PSP, PS3, Xbox, Wii, etc).

• When we heard DVD, we think of movies.


• We can save more data by using a DVD compare to
a CD-ROM.
• DVD (4.7GB or more) can hold more than a CD-
ROM (700MB)
• But we need to have a DVD player to play it.

PEN DRIVE

• It is also called a pen drive, thumb drives, USB drive


or memory stick.
• It is small in size and can be carried easily.
• It can hold 512 MB to 8 GB
• We can plug it into the USB port of a computer and
laptops similar to External Hard drives (Hard disk).

Conclusion
There are different types of removable storage devices that
we can used to STORE or SAVE our documents such as
songs, videos, pictures, movies, text, sounds, games, etc.
