In a collaborative work group, use a variety of
technologies to produce a digital presentation or
product in a curriculum area. (1,2,6)

—Students can work in groups to create videos


that highlight one of the pillar character traits
—Fairness, citizenship, caring, respect,
trustworthiness, responsibility
—Students then use iMovie to edit their
presentation
—We will then post them on our class blog page
to allow families and other educators to view

environmental issue using digital resources and
propose a developmentally appropriate solution.

•Students will research ways that they can reduce
their carbon footprint by visiting sites such as WWF ,
EPA , Sierra Club and Earth911

•They will then create films using


National Geographic’s Wildlife Filmmaker to
showcase the animals that would be
helped by preserving the environment
and lists the tips that they found
Illustrate and communicate original ideas
and stories using digital tools and media-rich
resources. (1,2)

—Students will create art pieces in class


which they will then scan to create
digital images
—These images will be uploaded to
Voicethread and the student will add
voice commentary describing the story
behind their digital pictures
Demonstrate the ability to navigate in virtual
environments such as electronic books,
simulation software, and Web sites. (6)

•Pre- Kindergarten and Kindergarten students


will visit the computer lab to learn the basics of
web surfing by visiting interactive sites that
stress fun and learning such as Starfall and
Sesame Street
•Students will use the web to search their local
library for books of interest and follow it up
with a class field trip to the library to check
them out
