However, after speaking to the witches and being told he will be king, his feelings begin to change. When made Thane of Cawdor, he becomes more ambitious. Before killing King Duncan, he has doubts but goes through with the murder. After doing so, he feels guilt and paranoia over his crime. Later, Lady Macbeth falls ill after also experiencing guilt over their evil acts.
