Introduction

 Based on requested delivery date of the customer,


scheduling needs to be done for different stages of
delivery and transportation so as to deliver material to the
customer as per promised date.

 When delivery scheduling is active, system automatically


determines pick/pack and loading time.

 When Transportation scheduling is active,system


automatically determines Transportation planning time and
Transit time.
Introduction

 Activation of delivery and transportation scheduling is


dependent on sales document type.

 Example – documents like Inquiry, cash sale, credit / debit


memo request does not require delivery and transportation
scheduling.

 Calendar considered for scheduling is factory calendar


assigned to the shipping point.
Delivery scheduling

 Picking / packing time – It can be default lead


time for that shipping point or it can be
maintained accurately with additional factors
like route, weight group.


Loading time - It can be default lead time for
that shipping point or it can be maintained
accurately with additional factors like route,
loading group.

 Duration can be maintained in days and hours


so as to do precise scheduling with exact time.
Transportation scheduling

 Transit time – It is the actual time required to travel by


the route. It is defined in the route


Transportation lead time – It is time required to organize
transportation for a route. It is defined in the route
definition

 Duration can be maintained in days and hours so as to


do precise scheduling with exact time.
Shipping dates determination

 Shipping dates determination in sales order


It is done using backward scheduling

 Goods issue date = Requested delivery date – Transit


time

 Loading date = Goods issue date – Loading time


Material available date = Loading date – pick/pack time
