Space Craft Design

The brief for these designs was a two seated spacecraft with both space and orbit flight. It was implied that the vessel maybe used as a high-speed reconnaissance craft. For research I review various high-speed planes suck as the U2 spy plane. I also looked at stealth bombers, as well as the commercial plane the Lear Jet. For the space flight capabilities I looked at the NASA Space Shuttle as well as the concept design for the commercial Virgin Galactic.

My early concept was a vey sketch idea that incorporated more from regular airplanes such as the stealth, with little consideration for the space flight requirements.

My second and final concept contains aspects from the stealth fighter as well as the space shuttle. I felt it was important for the craft to be able to fly in orbit as well as break orbit into space. For the design I gave the craft high-powered jet engines as well as rocket propulsion.

For the completed concept designs, I gave the craft a rugged and used look, showing fray and damage to the finish.
