Role of Involvement

There are different types of buying behavior including high involvement where there are significant differences between brands and the decision requires more research, and low involvement where there are few differences and less research is required. There is also habitual buying behavior where purchases are made out of habit without much thought. Dissonance-reducing behavior occurs when a purchase decision causes anxiety or doubt that the buyer then seeks to reduce.
