Second Grade *Students will apply The Keys to Friendship through role plays. *Students will establish a friendship goal and will identify the steps to achieve it. Third Grade *Students will write a "Want Ad" including 3 positive friendship characteristics, 2 interests, and 1 characteristic not wanted.
Fourth and Fifth Grade *Students will list ways to stand up to peer pressure. *Students will name 5 characteristics they look for in a friend. *Students will know the 3 Ways People Connect (friend, classmate, enemy) and give examples of each. *Students will respond assertively to friendship conflicts. Examples include but are not limited to: "No thanks, but thanks for asking." "No. Im not going to do that today, it was nice of you *Students will respond to a friend saying "No" to their request with a verbal response of "OK, maybe another time." *Review of the Rule of 5 and Reframing to assess how big of a problem them have.
