Vautime Study

This document outlines the steps for conducting a time study which is used to determine the standard time for operations. It involves: 1) Selecting the job to study, 2) Standardizing the method, 3) Choosing an operator, 4) Recording details, 5) Breaking the job into elements, 6) Measuring duration of each element, 7) Recording ratings, 8) Converting observed times to standard times using ratings, 9) Calculating allowances for relaxation and contingencies, and 10) Determining the standard time by adding allowances to the basic time. Limitations include the need for measurement equipment and potential for operator bias.
